run / walk
The BLIND K BLINDFOLD Run/Walk will begin at 10 AM Eastern Time on October 26, 2024 and conclude at 9 PM, Sunday, October 27th. We will send you an email and video link that morning to remind you of the event. You will have 35 hours to complete your run/walk and report your results in one of three ways.
Send us your name, a picture of your duo, and your time or post it on our FACEBOOK Event Page, post and tag our INSTAGRAM page with the hashtag “#theblindk,” or email us the pics, information and results to [email protected] You can also TEXT the information to 269-588-0864.
HOW WILL IT HAPPEN?
You CHOOSE a friend to run or walk the 5K event with you and one of you wears a blindfold. Run or walk, it up to you; just do it all safely. Its all about community.

Blind people journey into the UNKNOWN every day and we want to help change their experience. When you sign up for the BLIND K Run / Walk, not only are you getting a tiny taste of the UNKNOWN, but you are supporting an organization whose mission is to restore sight to those in need. Americans tend to be individualistic and independent, but visually impaired people know the value of community. If you have ever watched YOUTUBE videos of individuals running a BLINDFOLD race WITHOUT a partner, you see the negative and often painful results. DON’T DO THAT! This 5K run/walk is about doing things together.
$35 is the average cost of ONE International Cataract Surgery, thus the reason for the PRICE!
This fee, as well as sponsorships, will be used to continue our efforts to restore SIGHT WORLDWIDE.
